About Our Intensive Outpatient Program
Our intensive outpatient program in Chattanooga is a step down from our partial hospitalization program, which is a less restrictive alternative when compared to a traditional inpatient program.
While you are enrolled in the program, you can live at home and are welcome to continue working, interacting with your family, and participating in other activities. It is not a residential program that requires hospitalization.
This program rarely involves a medical element; instead, your treatment will likely involve therapy and other non-medical methods. We offer programs such as adventure-based counseling, brainmapping, and a trauma intervention model. Depending on your needs, any of these treatment methods may be involved if you participate in our intensive outpatient program.
Benefits of an Intensive Outpatient Program
Intensive outpatient programs provide an environment that is structured, while still allowing the patient some freedom to progress toward their recovery in a way that works for them. The program provides individually-tailored treatment that addresses each patient’s unique needs.
One of the most attractive benefits of an intensive outpatient program is that it allows patients to continue about their lives while completing treatment. You can adjust your treatment to your schedule and around your obligations, so you do not need to interrupt your life in order to receive effective treatment.
As the program progresses, the focus of your treatment will likely shift from addressing your addiction to preparing you for a life in recovery. Our intensive outpatient program in Chattanooga will provide you with the tools you need to successfully live a clean life.

Intensive Outpatient Program FAQ
-
What is the difference between inpatient treatment and outpatient treatment?
Inpatient treatment requires a patient to stay within the hospital, usually overnight and for more than one night at a time. Outpatient treatments do not require any hospitalization, and the patient can go home or work and other obligations as they need. Because outpatient does not require hospitalization, there is also no hassle with dealing with patient intake forms and the like for each treatment. -
How can an IOP help me?
Intensive outpatient programs can help you seek sobriety and get the support you need – including specific medical treatments – without completely derailing your personal life. We can find a way to schedule your treatments around your other tasks, like work, picking up your children from school, completing your education, and so on. -
Who is eligible for the intensive outpatient program?
People who do not require hospitalization can be eligible for our IOP. We do not suggest it for just anyone, though. We like to take the time to get to know everyone who comes to our rehabilitation center, so we can figure out what will help each person the most. Every recovery program is personalized to match the person who needs it.
